Integrative Body work
My modalities all combine to enrich each other. They can be used as a stand alone or together. If you have a massage and I feel Myofascial release will be beneficial for you, I may ask if you would like to me to include a technique to see if you find it helpful. If you have certain issues that I feel Craniosacral could be helpful for, I may ask if you would like to include this or try a session. I offer somato-emotional release to help when you have tried many different approaches and perhaps there is emotional tension being held in the body and by raising awareness around this, it can often help release the physical pain interestingly. I also offer reiki for people interested in a more energetic approach. We can work out a plan together depending on your unique needs and see what you feel would suit you. There are reduced priced packages you may wish to enquire about too. My years of yoga and yoga therapy also mean I can advise you of practices that may help support recovery or support you between treatments.
What You'll Experience
We will run through your intake form and discuss your needs & agree on a plan. For treatments other than massage, you will typically lie down on the treatment table fully clothed and face up with a blanket over you. You can request music or just listen to the sounds of nature.
If you are including therapeutic or remedial massage, you will remove clothing of the area being massaged before covering yourself with a towel and lying face down generally. Please shower before treatment & if you have any open cuts I will need to cover with a band aid first. Please keep underwear on at all times. Bra can be removed as preferred but be assured, your privacy is respected and you will be covered appropriately except for the area being focused on whether it is a leg, back, arm.
I use Tui balm which is NZ based product. I have an allergy free one with no scent or nuts so please request this if you have allergies, or BYO.
Let me know exactly what you want from the treatment (incl any areas you wish to be avoided and level of preferred pressure) so we can best decide the techniques that may be most helpful for you. It is helpful to have as much information as possible in some cases and doc/physio/neurologist referral is sometimes sought so please provide this with your form as relevant for your case.
I will leave you to get dressed then we will reassess how you feel and any after care / exercises etc. as preferred.
After the treatment, it is important to hydrate and rest if you are tired. Toxins can come up and can make you feel tired as you expel these. If it’s cold and windy, keep the area covered and warm.

Remedial, deep tissue, relaxation/therapeutic massage. May or may not include MFR or CST techniques as preferred. I have a provider number so you are able to claim back if eligible.
-
MFR is useful for more chronic conditions and hydrating deep layers of fascia which cause restriction. It can be done with Craniosacral therapy or as part of a massage. It does not always include balm so please specify your preferred outcome and what the treatment is for.

Energetic healing involves light touch hands on or off. It may feel similar to meditation or deep relaxation a bit like yoga nidra. Ask if you are interested in me using crystals or tuning forks or balancing the chakras. Have an intention of what you want from the session. You can share this or keep it to yourself.

Great for tension patterns in the body and mis-alignments. This can be very light touch and intentional to help the body re-organise and re-align. it’s also great for stress and TMJ issues amongst many more!
Somato-Emotional release (SER) is an extension of CST where restrictions are not released with CST alone, sometimes we hold emotional tension in the body and it can often be released through tuning into these through SER.

I recommend wearing comfortable clothes that are easy to move in and bringing a water bottle. I provide yoga mats as well as additional equipment that we may use during classes such as blankets, bolsters, balls etc. though many like to bring their own.
-
If you are sick or away, you can choose between a make-up class or a video recording and /or relaxation. You could even send/bring a friend if you are unable to make up yourself.

There is usually plenty of street parking close by. Occasionally if there is a function on at the school you may need to walk a little but this rarely happens and if you are concerned about walking far for any reason, let me know and I will arrange a spot near by.

The style is therapeutic and wholistic so you are addressing all aspects of the self and not just the physical body. I love to include ancient philosophies and tools from the yogic and ayurvedic traditions as well as over 25 years of experience in this field and with other integrative therapies, to give you a more layered approach in helping support you back to balance.

This is tucked away at a private residential address. There is a beautiful studio at the back of the property. You walk down the long driveway and screened walkway past the house and garage and you will see the purpose built studio in the garden under a beautiful white mulberry tree. There is a bathroom to the left that has space to change in if coming directly from work. It is 15a Somerville Road, Hornsby Heights, NSW, 2077, on the opposite side of the road to the school (left coming from Galston Rd) and just before the end of school zone sign and bend. You will see a white yoga sign.

Sound bowls are used after relaxation and so you may need to let me know if you are sensitive to sound and pop some earphones on at the end if you are happy to do this. There are sometime essential oils or incense but if you let me know, I will be sure to use unscented candles etc. I tend to use Tui balm for massage and MFR and have the nut free unscented blend for sensitive skins or post recovery / pregnancy so please ask if you prefer this. Otherwise they may have arnica and essential oils and almond oil.
