Term 4 (12 Oct - 18 Dec 2020)
Classes are back at the studio but zoom yoga is remaining in place on Thursdays at 12pm for those of you working from home or who find it more convenient. Weekly recorded videos are also available as a subscription along with any home practice.
Enrolment for term 4 2020 is taking place now. I would advise to renew/waitlist asap to get the spot you like as beginner classes often fill up and classes are limited to only 5 due to the current COVID space requirements.
Term 4 Beginner's Yoga group classes are 10am on Tues and Thurs and 6pm on a Monday & Tuesday (and Thurs at 7pm is an extra class for this term only to compensate for less people per class as well as the zoom class or recordings only). The Zoom yoga class is 12pm Thursdays and this is the day the recorded class is sent to anyone subscribed.
Progressive classes are on Monday and Tuesday at 7:45pm with more advanced postures and pranayamas and meditations as well as inversions and salutations (suitable if you are reasonable fit and healthy and have practiced yoga for a year or more & wanting a more meditative, breath-centred style). If you've practiced yoga for atleast a year, give this a go. It is stronger than beginner but I will still give gentle options!
Yoga Relaxation 12-12:30pm Mondays
Lie down and enjoy a meditative style relaxation to ease tiredness, stress and other deep seated tensions away, leaving you feeling nourished and relaxed. Mats, cushions, blankets and eye masks, etc. provided.
Beginner classes (Mon/Tues/Thurs 10-11:30AM & Mon/Tues 6pm & Thurs 7pm & 12pm Thurs Zoom class & recording)
There are sometimes a few spots in some classes if you want to start mid-term (minus $22 per lesson missed prior to booking). Casual classes (if space are $27 for 90mins). I offer private yoga or yoga therapy sessions ($100 for 90mins) on Weds or Fridays and other times as available (call to arrange). Current students wanting home practices can do a shorter session for $50. For loved ones (couples, siblings, mum and teen, dad and teen etc) we have the option of spending quality time together for 90 mins to practice yoga and relax. This can be a beautiful treat/gift to someone you love to do together. and you can take a recorded relaxation away with you. I do all sorts of take away tailor made practices and meditations etc depending on what you want.
Home practice, once or more often, between classes and during school-term holidays, is highly encouraged for more obvious results. But the most important thing is ongoing regular practice & to try to learn the practices so you are able to practice from home even just awareness of posture. I see amazing results in students and love any feedback which is encouraging and helps me to learn and grow too. Make sure to choose the appropriate stage for you (so there is pleasant effort but not strain). If you choose a stage that is not appropriate for you, ask yourself why :)
Once a week will maintain you and keep the regularity but if you are looking for deeper results then you may be surprised to hear you only need practice for as little as 10 mins a day. If you make it part of the early morning routine before breakfast/shower and dealing with all the other demands on your day you can meet your own needs before everyone else's! You are welcome to book in for a yoga therapy session to help with this. One session is occasionally enough, but generally atleast 3 sessions are recommended (at a reduced rate) as it is much more effective and enables support between sessions and adapting the practice according to feedback and how it has worked for you and how you are progressing. Private & yoga therapy sessions can be a stepping stone to a group class or help you overcome a block.
Remember regularity is key although it takes a lot of longing/discipline with all life's distractions and ups and downs in energy levels - but it will be well worth it. You will feel great.
If you wake up and feel tired and lethargic just get on the mat and you will feel so much better for it! That's what will motivate you in the end.
